Scots of Springfield Reach Out to Japan

The Scots of Springfield recently had a chance to reach out to Japan via one of the St. Andrew’s Societies located there. Many of the members were effected by the earthquakes and tsunamis that struck Japan recently. The local group has asked for any help that would be offered by fellow Scots from across the globle. I want to share the letter that was sent to the Scots of Springfield group to a larger audience here today.

Thank you very much for your message of support.  It is good to know that
we have friends around the world thinking of Japan during this challenging
time.

We are currently focussing our efforts on fundraising, indeed, our next
event, a dinner cruise to view the cherry blossom, will raise funds for
the relief efforts in Tohoku.  I’ve attached the link to the event below:

You will note that we have referenced Burns in the announcement as you did
in your email to us.  Thank you very much for guiding us to these very apt
words.

Any donations would be gratefully received.

Thank you again for thinking of us.

Wishing you and your members every health and happiness,

Anne Konishi
Secretary, St. Andrew Society of Yokohama and Tokyo
